BR Standard 7P No. 70000 'Britannia' runs alongside Weydon Lane, hauling the 'Mid Hants Daylight' railtour on 8th May 1994

The small boy in the far right of the photo is me, aged 9. My father took the photos as I was too small to see over the top of the fence.

Britannia, on its way back from the Mid-Hants, enters the double-track section at the London end of the Farnham EMU Sheds.

These photos were taken from the footbridge that connects Weydon Lane with the industrial estate on the other side of the railway. Unfortunately on this day the combination of a poor camera and poor light meant the photos didn't come out as well as I'd have liked.
|
The same location, 6 years later. Rebuilt Bulleid West Country No. 34016 'Bodmin' passes the EMU sheds on its main line test run, on 3rd June 2000.
|
A mk1 EMU can be seen just poking out of the shed. Since these photos were taken, major work has taken place in this area to provide stabling for the new Desiro trains.
